April’s Drawing of the Month

This subtle little sketch is the Bad Taste Bears Club Drawing of the Month for April, to be given away in a free draw at the end of the month.

Col-Erase blue pencil and Faber Castell Pitt white pastel on GF Smith Colourplan grey 11″x8″.

I really enjoy working on toned paper where adding white highlights bring a sketch to life. My original intention was to sketch out the basic proportions in Col-Erase blue pencil, then tighten up with regular graphite before adding the highlights, but it just felt right to just continue with the blue and touch in the whites right at the end.

I’m very happy with the result.

To stand a chance of owning this exercise in subtlety, you need to be a member of the Bad Taste Bears Club. It’s free to join, just click here to sign up.

The lucky recipient of this drawing will be selected at random from the current membership list on May 1 2018 and the winner notified by email and announced on social media.

Good luck!
